چکیده
The new WHO guidelines for the treatment on Tuberculosis (4th edition) has come out in 2010 with several important changes from the previous guideline published in 2003.1 Major progress in global TB control follows the wide spread implementation of DOTs strategy. In 2006 stop TB strategy was launched with the objective of (i) universal access to patient centred treatment and protection of population from TB/HIV co-infection and multidrug resistance tuberculosis (MDR-TB).2 MDR-TB is defined as tuberculosis caused by mycobacterium tuberculosis showing invitro resistance to isoniazid and rifampicin with or without resistant to any other drugs. All TB patients have the right to free and equitable access to TB care from diagnosis through treatment and completion. The present guideline is a step towards stop TB strategy. The present article is based on some of the important recommendations which will be required by the physicians for common use.
